Trafic parquet flooring, designed by Marc Sadler for Listone Giordano, is a wooden surface that offers a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional end-grain flooring. Inspired by the 19th century pavage en bois of the wooden streets of London, Paris and New York, it tells of an era of genius and radical transformation.
Trafic is a tribute to a past of change, innovation and new lifestyles: a dialogue with history that invites reflection on the present, the speed of change and the need to rediscover authentic connections with our roots.
Marc Sadler is a French citizen born in Austria who has lived and worked in Europe, North America and Asia. One of the first graduates in industrial aesthetics from ENSAD in Paris, he perfected the first fully recyclable ski boot in thermoplastic in the early 1970s, the start of a long career in sports design and new materials.
Four times a winner of the Compasso d’Oro, he has work in the design collections of MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. For Listone Giordano he designed Fabrique, a birch floor with the personality of a rich textile, and Trafic, inspired by the wooden streets of 19th-century London, Paris and New York.
