Natural Genius Phibon, the visionary work designed by Emanuel Gargano for Listone Giordano, represents a synthesis of mathematical rigour and organic poetry. The beating heart of the project is the Fibonacci sequence, the golden code that governs the growth of forms in nature. The system is based on three distinct geometric modules that, like notes on a musical score, allow for the composition of ever-changing patterns.
The aesthetics are defined by a tactile and unexpected surface, capable of stimulating the sense of touch as much as the sight: the integration of cork dust provides a natural and deep texture. The result is an infinite surface, capable of extending seamlessly across floors, walls and even ceilings.
Emanuel Gargano was born in Assisi, where he trained and keeps his roots. After studying at ISIA in Urbino and working in London, he devoted himself to weaving the concepts of void and nothingness into space and art, and today divides his time between his studio in New York and his workshop in Assisi.
Winner of the Compasso d’Oro in 2016, he works across architecture, industrial design and light. For Listone Giordano he designed Phibon, a surface built on the Fibonacci sequence and the golden ratio.
