Soo Chan

Soo Chan, is a practicing architect based in Singapore. He was born in 1962 in Penang, Malaysia and obtained his Masters of Architecture at Yale University in 1987. He is the founding principal and design director of SCDA Architects Pte Ltd which he established in 1995. Soo Chan has taught and lectured at a range of prestigious institutions including the National University in Singapore, the Tamsui University in Taipei, and the Notre Dame University in Paris. 
He has been the recipient of many awards including the inaugural President’s Design Award in Singapore for Designer of the Year in 2006, and the Royal Institute of British Architects Worldwide Award for the Lincoln Modern in 2005. The works of his architecture practice have been published extensively in international journals and books including Architectural Review, Architectural Record, Interni, Lotus, Monument, World Architecture and other international architectural journals. Soo Chan’s portfolio of projects includes master planning, resorts and hotels, high-rise apartments, commercial and institutional buildings and private homes across several continents including Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia and the USA.
