Marcello Cuneo

Marcello Cuneo studied architecture in Milan and on graduation worked with Gio Ponti from 1962 until 1970. In Ponti's studio he gained experience designing large projects from office buildings to musuems and private villas. Since 1971 he has run his own studio collaborating with furniture manufacturers including Arflex, for whom he designed the Cross armchair in 1974 and received a Compasso d/Oro honorable mention. Marcello's projects include laboratory containers for oceanographic research for ENEA and lighting design for the University of Salzburg's library. His work has been exhibited at galleries around the world and was included in the important 1972 MoMA show, Italy: New Domestic Landscape.
