Poliform launched in Sydney, Australia in 1996 and has since expanded, opening showrooms in Melbourne, Singapore, and in Kuala Lumpur.
Poliform Australia represents some of Italy’s most respected furniture brands including Poliform, Arflex and Porada and lighting brands Pallucco Italia and Oluce.
In the showrooms located throughout Australasia, the Poliform collection offers a complete home solution, including kitchens, wall-to-wall storage systems, wardrobes, walk-in wardrobes, side tables, beds, dining tables and chairs, sofas, lighting and occasional pieces.
ARFLEX IN AUSTRALIA
Arflex began in 1947 when a group of technicians from Pirelli had a vision to develop cutting-edge modern furniture founded upon a high level of research and experimentation. The company was formed officially in 1950, its first collection presented at the IX Triennale in Milan in 1951, where Marco Zanuso’s Lady armchair received a gold medal.
Arflex has continued to work with some of the worlds leading architects and designers including Franco Albini, De Carlo, Belgiojoso, Peressutti, Roger, Carboni, Pulitzer, Menghi, Joe Colombo, Casati, Spadolini, Tito Agnoli, Merenco, Cini Boeri, Carlo Colombo, Cristof Pilelt, Vincent Van Duysen, Michele De Lucchi, Ettore Sottsass, Marco Piva and many others.
Today Arflex continues to innovate and explore the use of new materials, technologies, and designs, and has continued to receive numerous awards and recognitions including - 5 gold medals at the Triennale, 11 covers of the Domus magazine, and 3 Wallpaper Design awards, among others. Many pieces are now part of the permanent collections at some of the world’s leading museums, such as MOMA (New York), The Chicago Athenaeum, and the Triennale in Milan and Tokyo.
Poliform was founded in 1970, evolving from an artisan business dating back to 1942. In 1996, the company introduced Varenna, its specialist kitchen division, producing highly sophisticated and elegant designs that complement Poliform’s functional and timeless furniture. Contributing to Poliform’s success has been collaborations with some of the world’s most innovative designers and architects, including Marcel Wanders, Carlo Colombo, Vincent Van Duysen, Paolo Piva, Paola Navone, Studio Kairos, Robert Barbieri and Robert Lazzeroni.
Poliform’s headquarters, designed by Paolo Piva are in Inverigo, Como. In total, the site covers 22 500 square metres and has staff of 200.
The unit in Arosio, also in the Como region, houses the 1000 square metre company showroom, for exclusive use by members of Poliform's business network and the press. The area showcases Poliform’s latest products and collections. Also on site is the production area of Poliform’s day and night accessories (tables, chairs, kitchen cupboards, beds, chests-of-drawers and bedside tables), as well as wardrobe systems.
The Lurago premises are the headquarters of Varenna, Poliform's kitchen division. Like all other Poliform units, the Lurago premises were designed by Paolo Piva.
Poliform Contract caters to large-scale international clients, from architects and designers to international developers, completing high-end projects, including London's West End Quay, the AOL Time Warner Centre in New York, the Presidential Chambers of the Clinton Library in Little Rock and the Palmolive Building in Chicago.
