Born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1976, Rodrigo Torres studied Industrial Design at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, graduating in 1998. He furthered his studies in Milan, completing his Masters in Design at the Domus Academy the following year. In 1997 he was awarded the Mario Santo Domingo prize for the best students of design and architecture of Colombia and completed an internship at Whirlpool Europe. Under the guidance of Stefano Giovannoni, he was part of the BaciLab project from Domus Academy in which he developed packaging for Baci Perugina’s chocolates in 2000. For the following four years, he collaborated with Giovannoni’s studio as a designer, developing products for companies such as Alessi, Fiat, Deborah, Magis, 3M, Oregon scientific, Helit, Artenoma and others. He has since designed for companies including Poliform, Nike, Microsoft, Domodinamica, Miller, Kvaser and Ferrero.
